The population ecology of sustainable agriculture knowledge networks: insights from California

چکیده

Sustainable agricultural knowledge networks consist of heterogeneous actors who collaborate and share to advance the goals sustainable agriculture. We analyze how structure agriculture is related social-ecological context across 57 counties in California. apply a population ecology approach that identifies variables space, energy, stability which evolve. Using data from 2016 survey outreach extension professionals, we find four different types at stages development, vary centrality key associated with University The most highly developed exist agriculturally productive diverse crops. relate differently size versus networks, implies need for ambidextrous strategies customized network processes.

Fractal Population Ecology Theory

Abstract Purpose - The aim of this paper is to describe the population ecology theory through fractal thinking, an emergent human operating system that is creative, adaptive, healthy, and evolutionary; furthermore, a parallel is drawn between the population ecology model and the fractal structure. Top-down hierarchies are typically characterized by command and control systems of the authority t...

Investigating the beneficial traits of Trichoderma hamatum GD12 for sustainable agriculture—insights from genomics

Trichoderma hamatum strain GD12 is unique in that it can promote plant growth, activate biocontrol against pre- and post-emergence soil pathogens and can induce systemic resistance to foliar pathogens. This study extends previous work in lettuce to demonstrate that GD12 can confer beneficial agronomic traits to other plants, providing examples of plant growth promotion in the model dicot, Arabi...

Linking behavioral ecology with population genetics: insights from Drosophila nigrospiracula.

Although Drosophila species provide important model systems for evolutionary biology, the ecologies and natural histories of most species are insufficiently characterized to permit predictions with respect to issues such as population genetic structure. A notable exception is the group of cactophilic Drosophila endemic to the Sonoran Desert of North America. One of these species, D. nigrospirac...
